Dr Rachel Ayres is an experienced Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered Chartered Clinical Psychologist. Rachel qualified in 2011, and alongside her private practice, currently works in a specialist NHS service for 18-25 year olds.
Rachel believes that at the heart of an effective therapy is a therapeutic relationship that is empathic, warm and sincere. Rachel is compassionate and committed to helping people identify what is important to them and supporting them to move towards this. She is experienced in working with a range of difficulties, including depression and anxiety, and with clients who have experienced trauma. Rachel also has a special interest in perinatal mental health and well-being. She can support parents and prospective parents throughout this journey, specifically with infertility, pregnancy loss, birth trauma, and pre-and post-natal anxiety and depression.
In addition to her clinical psychology training, she has further training in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), schema therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), compassion-focused therapy (CFT) and eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR). This enables Rachel to work flexibly to help clients meet their individual goals.

Rachel can offer appointments in Bishop's Stortford on weekday evenings.
Therapy is a collaborative endeavour whereby we work together to support you to improve and enrich your life
