&

Consultant Clinical Psychologist

BSc (Hons), DClinPsy, CPsychol, CSci, AFBPsS

Liz is a Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered Clinical Psychologist, Chartered Psychologist, Chartered Scientist and an Associate Fellow with the British Psychological Society.

Liz has over 20 years of experience in working in NHS mental health settings and received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2007. After qualifying, Liz worked for thirteen years in older people's services, completing her NHS career as Head of Service, providing clinical leadership and managing a team of qualified, trainee and assistant psychologists. Since 2017 Liz has worked privately on a part time basis. She now focuses all of her time on private provision of psychological services, and founded Harley Clinical Psychology to help people access high quality psychological therapy quickly; something that she is particularly passionate about.

Liz spent her early career working as an assistant psychologist in an NHS secondary care therapy service and a learning disabilities service. During her doctoral training she broadened her skills working with a range of client groups, across therapeutic approaches including cognitive behaviour therapy, and spent her final year specialising in psychoanalytic psychotherapy with adults and young people at the world renowned Tavistock Clinic in London.

These experiences have shaped Liz into a psychologist who is warm, compassionate and helps each client feel supported through their therapy journey. She has significant experience of working with people from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds, and with those who present with complex problems and histories. Liz is skilled in being able to flexibly use different therapeutic modalities to help clients reach their individual goals.

Client Testimonials

We worked together to find solutions, she didn't lead me or tell me what to do, and empowered me to know that I have control of my mental wellbeing.

Very knowledgeable, has shared a lot of really helpful content/tools that has helped me to progress and feel empowered to cope.

My sessions with Liz genuinely changed my life, and helped me to become someone I didn't think I was capable of being.

I am so pleased to have worked with Liz and I don't know where I would be now without her.
